Peninsula Cardiology Centre has been providing complete non-invasive cardiac investigations to the Northern Beaches of Sydney for 18 years. We seek a Cardiology Registrar, Fellow or PHD Student 1 - 2 days per week for 7 weeks from 10th September, to relieve at our busy, expanding, ethical cardiac diagnostic centre. Applicants should have experience in performing and interpretation of exercise stress tests, Holter Monitor and 24 hour ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor tests. You will have onsite support from leading Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiologists.

Our testing centre has the latest technology cardiac testing equipment on-site which offers significant improvements in the detection, precise diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease. Reporting time is allowed for in daily schedule. Our broad network of referring gp’s appreciate the short lead time for appointments and prompt return of reports.

MonashHeart, Southern Health Southern Health is the largest metropolitan health service in Victoria and provides comprehensive primary, secondary and tertiary health care services to people in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and the Latrobe Valley.

MonashHeart is the new cross-site single, unified Southern Health cardiology service, encapsulating the cardiology services of Monash Medical Centre, Clayton and Dandenong Hospital.

Non Invasive Imaging Cardiologist, MonashHeart

Non Invasive Imaging services provide the full range of diagnostic echocardiography including transthoracic, transoesophageal, exercise and pharmacological stress imaging. Over 10,000 echocardiograms are performed each year across MonashHeart, including adult and paediatric studies. In August 2008 we will become a luminary site for 320 slice cardiac CT.

Applications are invited from Cardiologists with excellent skills in all aspects of clinical echocardiography, and a keen interest in clinical research and education. The successful applicant will also undertake cardiology ward service at both of our MonashHeart inpatient sites.

Cardiac Technologist, Gr 3 Cardiac Sonographer, MonashHeart

Non Invasive Imaging services provide the full range of diagnostic echocardiography including transthoracic, transoesophageal, exercise and pharmacological stress imaging. Over 10,000 echocardiograms are performed each year across MonashHeart, including adult and paediatric studies.

This part time position (32 hours per week) is suited for a qualified and experienced cardiac sonographer in either adult or paediatrics looking for a challenging but rewarding work environment.


Cardiac Technologist, Gr 2, MonashHeart

We are seeking a cardiac technologist with experience in non-invasive physiology and basic cardiac cath lab who is looking for new challenges in electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management. This full time position will involve intensive training in our newly refurbished third cardiac cath lab which is dedicated to diagnostic and interventional EP and device therapy.

Interventional Fellow, MonashHeart

This excellent training program will equip two fellows in the art and science of interventional cardiology including PCI, IVUS, FFR, PTSMA, shunt closures and balloon mitral valvuloplasty. More than 1000 PCI’s are performed in the interventional laboratories (30% of these are emergency STEMI PCI’s) and 2700 cardiac catheter procedures per year. We also provide a transradial interventional service. Preference will be given to those interested in a PhD degree.

Non Invasive Imaging Fellow, MonashHeart

These two positions will provide education in the full range of diagnostic echo modalities including TTE, TOE, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. In August 2008 we will commence a cardiac CT service where the NII fellows will also receive training in this state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging modality.

Cardiac Rhythm Management Fellow, MonashHeart

This busy training position is designed to educate the successful applicants in diagnostic and interventional EP and device therapy. The MonashHeart CRM service implants over 590 devices and performs over 250 EP studies per year (including PVI, cryo-ablation and 3D cardiac mapping).

Combined PhD Clinical Fellowship, MonashHeart

CANBERRA HOSPITAL
CARDIOLOGIST - SENIOR STAFF SPECIALIST -
DIRECTOR OF CARDIOLOGY - ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR

Applications are invited for the above specialist position from suitably qualified medical graduates with Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians who are eligible for medical specialist registration in the Australian Capital Territory. The appointment as staff specialist or senior staff specialist is a permanent appointment after a period of probation. The appointment of Director is for a defined period of between 3 and 5 years, to be negotiated, depending on the qualifications and experience of the appointee.

The appointment as Director will involve clinical service management of cardiology services in the ACT region and will involve both Canberra Hospital and Calvary Hospital. The successful applicant will be expected to develop cardiology services for the ACT region including the surrounding areas of NSW.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will also provide academic leadership at a senior level in the ANU Medical School and will be suitable for appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. A track record in research is essential. The successful applicant will also be expected to take a significant role in postgraduate medical education and training of junior doctors.

Canberra Hospital is the principal referral hospital for Canberra and the South East region of New South Wales serving a population of about half a million. The hospital is well equipped with 600 beds and provides a regional trauma service. The cardiology unit is well-staffed and equipped. A second angiography suite has been approved in the recent ACT budget. Canberra Hospital is the major teaching hospital of the Australian National University (ANU) Medical School and has well-developed postgraduate teaching programs and a state-of-the-art medical library. Calvary Hospital is located on the north side of Canberra and has about 200 beds with a busy general medical service and coronary care unit.

Canberra is a beautiful city with outstanding amenities and excellent housing, educational and leisure opportunities. It is home to national icons and monuments. The coast and ski fields are nearby and Sydney is less than 3 hours away by road.

Remuneration packages for specialists in the ACT are generous.
