Position Title: Advanced Trainee

Employment Status: Multiple positions, Temp F/T (up to 31/1/2021) – MDP2

Locations: Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, Flinders Medical Centre and Royal Darwin Hospital

Indicative Total Remuneration: $94,749 – $154,146

Position Summary

Working as part of a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team, you will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to patients of Flinders Medical Centre. This will be achieved both in terms of individual performance and by contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. Under the direction of the Head of Training, Department of Cardiology, you will provide appropriate clinical care to patients and assist with coordinating follow-up care. You will maintain comprehensive clinical records which document significant patient management decisions, and ensure effective communication with other care providers to promote continuity of patient care.

As part of your role, you will have an active involvement in teaching medical students and junior medical staff as well as contributing to the conduct of research and audit within the Department of Cardiology. This training position will encompass rotation throughout the Flinders Medical Centre and the Royal Darwin Hospital. The Flinders Medical Centre has earned an international reputation as one of Australia’s finest public teaching hospitals and as a centre for research excellence. The hospital is co-located with the Flinders University School of Medicine and the Flinders Private Hospital.

You will need to hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. With prior clinical experience and competence in the practice of medicine, you will bring the ability to work as a member of a team and supervise more junior medical staff. Along with a strong commitment to providing a quality service to patients and their families, you will be willing to participate in continuing medical education activities.
