Position Title: Echocardiography Fellowship

Employment Status: Temp P/T (30.4 hrs p/wk, up to 31/1/2021) – MDP2

Locations: Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, Flinders Medical Centre

Indicative Total Remuneration: $94,749 – $154,146 (pro rata)

Position Summary

You will provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), including Transthoracic Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, and Transoesophageal Echocardiography. As part of your role, you will provide clinical services and undertake ward rounds for inpatients, attend to outpatient clinics, and participate in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

You will also perform relevant administrative tasks, research projects and be involved in professional and community service activities. In addition to services in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, you may provide outreach services to country South Australia and the Northern Territory. The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network provides care for around 341,000 people living in the Southern Metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those regional areas. More than 7,000 skilled staff provides high quality patient care, education, research and health promoting services. 

Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent qualification, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. You will have documented experience in providing echocardiographic services including transthoracic echo consistent with the CSANZ criteria for Advanced Trainees. Along with proven experience in cardiovascular medicine and teaching in public hospitals, you will bring the ability to work as a member of a team and an interest in undertaking clinical research.
