Position Title: PhD Candidate and Clinical Electrophysiology Fellow
Location: Box Hill Hospital, Eastern Health, Box Hill
Box Hill Hospital is part of the Eastern Health hospital network and is a tertiary institution with an academic affiliation with Monash University.
Applicants must have completed core training in cardiology.
Part-time candidature is not available.
During their duration of employment, the applicant will be primarily focused on completion of a full-time clinical research-based PhD through Monash University which will be supervised by A/Prof Andrew Teh.
Several research projects have already been planned and have received research funding. Areas of research interest within the department include atrial fibrillation, stroke, and the use of wearable technology for arrhythmias. In addition to completion of a PhD, other clinical duties include attendance at an outpatient arrhythmia clinic and performing a variety of electrophysiology (EP) laboratory procedures. These include device implants, diagnostic EP studies and ablation procedures. Participation in cardiology unit meetings, preparation of audits and attendance at scientific meeting is also expected.
