Investigator Awards and Travel Scholarships

Members who are consistently financially current are eligible to apply for awards as follows: 

  • BScHons and PhD Students may apply for Travel Support Scholarships to help meet the intercity travel costs of attending ISHR Australasian Section Meetings or the ISHR World Congress. The amount varies depending on location of the student and the conference venue.
  • Students who are eligible may apply for the ISHR Student Investigator Prizes (please see flyer for eligibility).

Face Applicants need to be financial members and provide a supervisor signed statement verifying official student status, a copy of their abstract (must be first author and the presenter). Post-docs (less than 8 years from graduation) are eligible for young investigator awards and travel awards to a world congress and must include in the application a copy of their abstract (first author status), curriculum vitae and nominate 2 referees.

Awards such as: Richard J. Bing Award for Young Investigators; Outstanding Investigator Award; Peter Harris Distinguished Scientist Award; Research Achievement Award; Keith Reimer Distinguished Lecture; Janice Pfeffer Distinguished Lecture; President’s Distinguished Lecture; ISHR Distinguished Leader Award; International Body Poster Prize, and Fellow of the ISHR (FISHR), are conferred by the world body of ISHR. These require formal nomination by the Australasian Section Council. (See international website www.ishrworld.org for award details & schedule).
